The Texas A&M Spinal Cord Initiative (TAMSCI) fosters research to discover new treatments to promote recovery after spinal cord injury. Research being conducted within TAMSCI is exploring the biological processes that fuel tissue loss after injury and how this can be prevented. On-going work is seeking new treatments to replace damaged tissue and develop innovative solutions to promote functional recovery.
Work within TAMSCI spans multiple levels of analysis, from developing new techniques to image tissue loss to factors affecting wellbeing and quality of life for those living with SCI. Our animal research discoveries serve as a step towards impacting human clinical treatments.
